Microscopic derivation of self-consistent equations of Anderson localization in a disordered medium of finite size.
We present a microscopic derivation of self-consistent equations of Anderson localization in a disordered medium of finite size. The derivation leads to a renormalized, position-dependent diffusion coefficient. The position dependence of the latter is due to the position dependence of return probability in a bounded medium.
متن کاملSelf-consistent field theory based molecular dynamics with linear system-size scaling.
We present an improved field-theoretic approach to the grand-canonical potential suitable for linear scaling molecular dynamics simulations using forces from self-consistent electronic structure calculations. It is based on an exact decomposition of the grand canonical potential for independent fermions and does neither rely on the ability to localize the orbitals nor that the Hamilton operator...
متن کاملSelf-consistent scaling theory for logarithmic-correction exponents.
Multiplicative logarithmic corrections frequently characterize critical behavior in statistical physics. Here, a recently proposed theory relating the exponents of such terms is extended to account for circumstances which often occur when the leading specific-heat critical exponent vanishes. Also, the theory is widened to encompass the correlation function. The new relations are then confronted...
متن کاملFinite-Size Bosonization and Self-Consistent Harmonic Approximation
The self-consistent harmonic approximation is extended in order to account for the existence of Klein factors in bosonized Hamiltonians. This is important for the study of finite systems where Klein factors cannot be ignored a priori. As a test we apply the method to interacting spinless fermions with modulated hopping. We calculate the finite-size corrections to the energy gap and the Drude we...
